The sequel to the 2007 Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) returns five years later for the second installment as the vengeful spirit Ghost Rider.

After selling his soul to the devil Mephistopheles to cure his father's cancer, only to watch him die the next day in a bike crash, Johnny Blaze, who by the devise of the devil, is transformed to Ghost Rider, returns 5 years later to save a boy called Danny (Fergus Riordan). The devil, who now goes by the name Roarke, needs Danny to manifest into human form and bring Hell to Earth. Blaze is sought out by a priest called Moreau (Idris Elba) who convinces him to save the boy's life in exchange for his priesthood's ability to restore Johnny's soul and lift the Ghost Rider curse off him.
